US Navy – USS Boulder (LST-1190) Engine Removal
The US Navy needed to remove two main propulsion diesel engines from the USS Boulder (LST-1190), an inactive Newport-class tank landing vessel. The ship first launched on April 22, 1970, and was commissioned on June 4, 1971. On February 28, 1994, Boulder was decommissioned and was placed in inactive reserve at the Naval Inactive Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia, PA.
