Philadelphia, PA, January 08, 2020 – Rhoads Industries, Inc. (Rhoads), a strategic partner and total solution provider of industrial fabrication, installation, and maintenance services and facilities, announced that it has been named a winner in the HR Department of the Year Awards presented by Gallagher. Rhoads was selected as the winner of the Excellence award in the Talent Acquisition category for its special recruiting initiatives, and recognized as a finalist in the Talent Management category.
The HR Department of the Year Awards, which focus on human resources communities in Philadelphia, recognized Rhoads’ best-in-class efforts in the overall operation of human resources. Rhoads received the Excellence award in the Talent Acquisition category for specialized recruiting through its partnership with the Rapid Response program, which provided Rhoads the opportunity to hire 14 employees from a local business that experienced a downturn. Other partnerships that contributed to Rhoads’ talent acquisition efforts include Drexel University, the Local Millwright Union, the CTE, and technical schools.

As a finalist in the Talent Management category, Rhoads was recognized for its creation of a registered welder apprenticeship program, in partnership with Boilermaker Local 19. It was also recognized for its development of a comprehensive skills and competency-based performance evaluation program for its Boilermaker union staff, as well as for piloting an in-house pipe-welding training for incumbent workers.
