Rhoads serves commercial customers in a variety of industries such as paper, packaging and food & beverage with end-to-end millwrighting, mechanical, piping and fabrication support. Located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Rhoads ensures your operation survives and thrives with 24/7 emergency support, in-field service and expert millwrighting and rigging, all supported by a long history of providing superior project management. Shut-down work and solving a customer’s unique challenges are the mainstays of what we do. Our large level of in-stock material allows us to turn requests around quickly, while our in-house custom metal fabrication capabilities provide us with the ability to effectively meet a company’s unique needs. On-site paint and blast facilities (16,000 SF) provide the means to blast, paint and coat both directly for customers, as well as to complement our fabricated items. Rhoads is the ideal teaming partner to large defense contractors and government agencies for large steel fabrication/assembly and industrial services programs. By providing a world-class heavy fabrication facility, skilled multi-trade workforce and an agile team that can quickly adapt to unique quality, contracting and procedure requirements, Rhoads complements teaming partners that focus in engineering, quality and program management. Rhoads’ team includes a workforce highly-skilled in large custom fabrication, large assembly, pipe-fitting, equipment installation and overall mechanical support that works collaboratively with our management and consultant team that provide proven expertise in the industry knowledge, project management, contracting, quality management, and accounting practices needed to excel in the federal defense industry and beyond. Located in the Mid-Atlantic at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Rhoads maintains a 300,000 square foot heavy manufacturing facility with 200 ton/58 feet under hook lifting capability that is strategically adjacent to navigable water with pier/dry dock access along the Delaware River. With waterfront access at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, Rhoads controls some of the most capable shipyard facilities in the eastern United States. Rhoads Shipyard consists of three piers (Pier #6 is 978’ is long x 102’ wide, Pier #2 is 800’ long x 80’ wide and Pier #5 is 750’ long x 110’ wide). We also have two graving docks (Dry Dock #3 is 978’ long with a width of 114’ at the top of the blocks and draft of 35’+, and Dry Dock #2 is 720’ long with a width of 79’ and a draft of 30’). Dry Dock #3 is serviced by a 50-ton portal crane, whereas Dry Dock #2 utilizes two 50-ton portal cranes, one of which also services Pier #5. Our three piers are available for lay berthing and can accommodate vessels over 800’ in length with a draft of over 30’. We serve the Navy, USACE and civilian vessels and provide a broad spectrum of services ranging from water delivery, electric service, trash, provisioning, and security all the way to complex overhaul and repairs.
